Making Marriage Work
for Making Marriage Work
Saturday, November 4 | 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Orland Park Campus
Join us as we learn the 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work based on the acclaimed culmination of four decades of the research of Dr. John Gottman. In this workshop, we blend his research with sound Biblical teaching on God's model for marriage. In this class you will learn to:
- Deepen your knowledge of one another
- Build friendship and trust
- Recognize and respond to bids for emotional connection
- Be open to influence
- Understand and work with both solvable and difficult problems
- Get through gridlocked conflict
- Create a special "story of us"
- Maintain your relationship
This event is for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of what it takes to be married - those looking for that special someone, contemplating marriage, engaged, happily married, or not so happy. It will be fun and fast-paced!
The cost for this class is $20 per person and includes materials and food.
Sunday, October 22
10:30 - 11:30 am | New Lenox Campus
Discover Parkview is a one-hour event held regularly at all Parkview campuses where you can get to know us a little better, and we can get to know you!
At Discover Parkview, we’ll give you a snapshot of our story, and update you on where God is leading us as His church.
We’ll also talk about ways that you can grow and get connected at your own pace through a variety of next steps, such as baptism, small groups, classes, and serving opportunities, both inside and outside the church. (This is also Parkview's membership class.)
Whether you’re new to Parkview or have been around for a while, Discover Parkview will help you take a next step in living the full life that Jesus has for you! (John 10:10)
Mondays, January 15 to March 19, 2018
6:30 to 8:30 pm at all campuses
More than a program, seminar, or small group, Rooted is a catalyst for life change - inspiring questions, conversations, connections, and experiences where you will see and hear from God in new and surprising ways.
Rooted groups meet for ten weeks on Mondays at all campuses, and there are also two additional gatherings (a prayer and serving experience) determined by your group. The final Rooted Celebration Dinner will be held at the Orland Park Campus.
The cost for Rooted is $50/person, which covers the cost of participant materials, facilitator resources, and the celebration dinner. Childcare is available for children from birth through 5th grade ($40 per child for the ten Monday evenings). Please don’t sign up for Rooted if you know you will miss more than two meetings.
How has Rooted changed your relationship with God?
Why should someone join a Rooted group?
Baby Dedication Class
Baby Dedication Class
Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, praying for the day when he or she makes a personal decision to follow God.
If you are interested in having your child dedicated at Parkview, we would like to invite you to one of our next baby dedication classes!
At this mandatory class led by some of our pastors, we’ll outline what baby dedication means and help you find ways to raise your child in a healthy and spiritually powerful way! Both parents are encouraged to attend this class.
