    Sixty-Plus Adults

The S.P.A. Ministry of Parkview Christian Church means to connect individuals that are age 60 and above. S.P.A. members are always on the move in their personal lives, but they are still vital to the church community. If you are interested in being a part of this fun-loving group and want to share your love for the Lord, we would like to have you join us at Parkview Christian Church.

Lonnie Caha, the S. P. A. pastor, commented, "This is an untapped energy at our church. I know so many sixty plus people who have been waiting for this to happen. I am so geared up for this new ministry!"

The church does not think in terms of sponsoring a group for senior citizens, but rather, we seek to identify a large and diverse fellowship of men and women who have entered a different phase of life. Parkview Christian Church needs people who have grown children, people who are retired, people who are pursuing second careers, people who have lost spouses, and people who have grandchildren of all ages.

While some people have greater physical and emotional needs than others, all share in the common need for growth in their daily walk and salvation with Christ. Our objective is not to isolate senior adults as care-taking liabilities, but to integrate their gifts, energies, experiences, and concerns in a way that is enriching for the entire body of Christ.

    Active Ministry

Parkview Christian Church offers a wide variety of opportunities for senior adults, both singles and couples. It is the church's goal to design ministries that will engage the sixty plus population in purposeful ministry and growth in a meaningful relationship with Jesus and with one another.

    Bible Studies

This weekly event is a great gathering place for connecting you with new friends and great fellowship. This class is taking the summer off, but will resume this fall Sundays at 9:00 AM.

    Travel

Don't miss the numerous trips planned annually. Both day trips, in and around Illinois, and out-of-state travel will provide opportunities for fellowship, entertainment, education, and fun cuisine! Be sure to always check the bulletin for upcoming events.

    Service Projects

Parkview Christian Church offers a variety of ways for active senior adults to serve. A diverse selection of opportunities awaits the adult volunteer: communion preparation, greeting, ushering and serving communion, nursery worker, Vacation Bible School worker, MOPS worker, Promised Land worker and much more.

    Small Groups

The heart of Parkview Christian Church is to connect couples and singles into groups of 10-12 faithful people. This group joins together for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and service. Many of you already are involved in small groups and strongly support this activity. This provides a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and grow spiritually toward Christlikness. The groups meet weekly for the first three weeks of a month. Groups are available Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

    Coffee Break with Devotions

SPA's Coffee Break with Devotions is held every Thursday at 9:00 AM at Smith Crossing Senior Living (Take 179th Street to 104th Avenue and turn South to Smith Crossing.) For more information, contact Pastor Lonnie at 708-478-7477, Ext. 203.

    Monthly Fellowship Breakfast

After the Coffee Break with Devotions on the third Thursday of the month, we meet at Kingsberry Waffle House (19845 S. LaGrange Road) in Mokena at 10:15 AM.

    Monthly Fellowship Luncheon

On the second Friday of each month, we meet at 12 PM in Parkview's Grand Foyer.
