Welcome Home Team – Oak House (Filling the Gap) – Orland Park Campus

This team will have the honor to work alongside our partners at Filling the Gap to help provide people with transitional housing in crucial points in their lives. Turning a finished house into a place that feels like home. Construction is complete—now it’s time for the final touches! The Welcome Home Crew will help prepare Oak House for the residents who will soon call it home. This team is perfect for volunteers who love organizing, decorating, cleaning, assembling furniture, or simply making a space feel warm and welcoming. Projects may include: Moving and arranging furniture Assembling beds, tables, shelving, and other furnishings Hanging pictures, mirrors, curtains, and décor Setting up bedrooms and living spaces Organizing kitchens and household supplies Final cleaning and dusting Making beds and adding those finishing touches that make a house feel like home No special skills are required—just willing hands, an eye for detail, and a heart for creating a welcoming space. This newly aquired house will soon be a home for a family in need. The Oak House is in Harvey, IL and that is where you will be working. As confidentiality is key for the residents, the team leader will send your the address of the house in your instructional email before the serve.
