Keeping Your Kids Safe

Your child’s safety is our top priority. We run background checks on every volunteer, and our safety team monitors Parkview Kids during the entire service.

A Place For Every Stage

Birth – 2 yrs.

The littlest ones will join us in The Garden. We teach a simple curriculum each week and have age-appropriate toys and activities to keep your child engaged. It’s a privilege to participate in forming your child’s earliest impressions of our wonderful God.

3 yrs. – Kindergarten

3-year-olds to kindergarteners join us in The Backyard for worship, a Bible lesson, crafts, and games! Our goal is to create a fun space where they can unleash their energy and learn about Jesus!

1st – 3rd

In The City, we help kids connect to God through worship, Bible teaching, and small group discussions. The time our children spend together each weekend is invaluable as they form character-building relationships with their leaders and other kids in their groups.

4th & 5th

Our 4th and 5th-grade students sum it up perfectly…“The Alley is SO cool!” Our small group Bible studies and fun activities foster friendships. The Alley is a place our pre-teens look forward to invading every weekend!

Special needs

We are committed to meeting the needs of all children. We can schedule a one-on-one aide for children needing extra assistance during our Kids services. At the Orland Park Campus, children may attend Parkview Cares on Sundays at 10:30 am.

Kids FAQ

Do I need to register my child?

It is not necessary to pre-register your child, but we do advise that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the service time so that you have ample time to get your child checked into class the first time. If you prefer to save time, you can preregister HERE.

Where do I go?

HOMER GLEN & NEW LENOX CAMPUSES: Upon arriving at Parkview, head to a Parkview Kids Kiosk located in the Main Lobby. First time families have a designated kiosk . We will be happy to assist you from that point.

ORLAND PARK CAMPUS: At the Orland Park Campus, head to the Parkview Kids Lobby, located at the west side of the building. You can register at the center kiosk for First-Time families. We will be happy to assist you from that point.

What security measures are in place?

Secured Environment: Upon check-in each week, you will receive a Parent label which contains a 3-digit alphanumeric code which corresponds with your child’s name tag label. This number is checked as you enter and exit the secured environment. All volunteers over the age of 18 are background checked and all volunteers wear identifying labels that permit them into the Parkview Kids area.

Parent Texting System: Please keep your phone nearby. We will send you a text message in the event your child needs you for any reason.

Strict Two-Deep Policy: While in Parkview Kids environments, your child will always be with two or more unrelated adults. No volunteer is ever alone with a child.

Emergency Preparation: Plans are in place and volunteers are trained to handle emergencies such as fire evacuation, severe weather, or lock down. Additionally, there is a uniformed officer on the premises for all of our services to provide readily available assistance for any type of emergency, and also to serve as a visual deterrent for any potential wrongdoing.

What do you do to provide a clean environment?

Our toys and mats in the nursery and early childhood areas are disinfected after each service. Additionally, toys that have been mouthed are removed from reach of other children throughout the service hour.

How do you know what my child needs?

For babies, please fill out a Baby Care Card when you check-in to help the nursery staff know how to best care for your child. In the toddler rooms, please give the nursery staff any special instructions related to the care of your toddler. All bottles, cups, and pacifiers should be labeled with the child’s name or initials.

What if my child needs a diaper change?

Diapers are changed on an as-needed basis. Our volunteers wear latex gloves when changing diapers. Creams and/or salves are not applied to the children. A sticker is placed on the child’s diaper indicating that he or she was changed. Our diaper changing station is sanitized after every diaper change. Parents can be called to change their child if requested.
